Family is the key to happiness...
A few weeks ago I got a call from a lovely lady named Carolyn. She wanted to gift a family session to her daughter, Sarah, for her birthday. Sarah, her husband, and little boy hadn't had many photos taken together and I'm sure as grandma she really wanted some, too! So, I gave Sarah a call and we talked for a little while about what she was looking for. She was so easy to talk to and her little boy isn't much older than my daughter so we connected really well about that.
We set a date for last Saturday and just before our session was scheduled to start, it rained! Not just a sprinkle, but a downpour. Overcast days and a little rain aren't a big deal, but we decided not to risk it being muddy or getting them too wet and rescheduled for the next day. It ended up being perfect!
They had chosen one of my favorite parks, McDaniel Farm, for the session. It was very popular that evening and there were a lot of other people there for photos! Sarah and her family were just adorable and so much fun! We made our way around the park, stopping in several spots to get some shots and really just relaxing and having fun.
Their little boy was just the cutest little guy with this huge grin and big, brown eyes. He did great at first, but like most toddlers, he lost interest in posed shots pretty quickly - except those by himself. He was more than keen to sit and let me take his photo, but didn't want to share the spotlight with mom and dad! We had so much fun exploring and running around and I took quite a few of mom and dad together.
In the end, I had so many great shots, that I had a hard time deciding what to edit! I'm so glad I was able to meet this fantastic family and I hope to be able to work with them a lot more in the future!
Here are some of my favorites!
Hi, I'm Kathleen! I'm a photographer, digital artist, and mom of two. I love to travel and spend time with my kids. I'll mostly be sharing recent photo sessions on my blog, but might have a few other articles here and there. Thanks for joining me!
