"Of august gold-wreathed and beautiful
Aphrodite I shall sing to whose domain
belong the battlements of all sea-loved
Cyprus where, blown by the moist breath
of Zephyros, she was carried over the
waves of the resounding sea on soft foam.
The gold-filleted Horae happily welcomed
her and clothed her with heavenly raiment."
~Homeric Hymn
Last week I discovered a model on Devianart that inspired quite a few new pieces of art in my mind.  Her name is Jessica Trunscott and she is a costumer, photographer and dancer from Australia. You can find her on Facebook, DeviantArt and her website has links to other social media. I spent a few hours going through her galleries on DeviantArt and I was so impressed with the quality of her model stock.  A few of them brought to mind Renaissance paintings and as there is a contest in a photography group I'm in for new pieces, I was excited to create something new.
The piece that I was inspired by for this is "Birth of Venus" by  Sandro Botticelli, thus my title "Birth of Venus Reprise".  I am not one to completely copy something, but the inspiration is clear. I hope that I have done the original painting justice with my interpretation.
