"Trust in dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity."
~Khalil Gibran
Long ago, I dreamed vividly about being in Italy. There were no details about what the town was called, but I knew the stay was in a very old cliffside inn with gorgeous views of the sea and the town across the inlet. I suppose in it was somewhere on the Amalfi coast, with the mountains rising behind the town. The room was ancient and showed it's age and I loved how rustic it felt. There was a four poster bed with romantic curtains and tile floors. A wooden doorway opened to a terrace overlooking the sea and town beyond. In my dream, I wore a long, flowing, white nightgown and I recall it billowing around me as the sea air came through the open door. I had stepped back in time and I love how relaxed and at ease I felt in my dream. Maybe I'm strange for holding on to something that wasn't real, or maybe I hope to one day find this hotel and stay there, making my dreams finally come true, but until then, I created this new piece to keep my memory of the dream alive.
